Introduction

The University of Piraeus established the Department of Maritime Studies (D .M.S) in 1989. tobridge the academic gap in the Greek maritime cluster. The aim of implementing this strategicdecision has been to provide educational services of the highest caliber to the local, regional, andglobal maritime community. 

The Department, via its strong ties with the Greek maritime cluster and global maritime industry,offers internship opportunities to its graduate students and unique career opportunities to itsgraduates. Since its inception, there is a strong and well-connected alumni network active in differentsectors ofthe maritime industry.
