Hamburg Sud splits Australia - SE Asia 'AUSE' service into 2 strings

HAMBURG Sud is to split its Australia to Southeast Asia service AUSE into two strings, branded AUSE 1 and AUSE 2, to offer faster transit times and add new direct calls at Malaysia's Port Kelang and in Jakarta, Indonesia, starting from October.

Customers will benefit from express Brisbane to Southeast Asia hub connections, arriving in Singapore in 12 days, as well as market leading transit times from Southeast Asia to Fremantle, Adelaide and Brisbane, reported AJOT.

The AUSE 1 string will be operated by seven 8,500 TEU vessels that will head first to Fremantle and then sail counter-clockwise around Australia. The AUSE 2 will be operated by six 5,700 TEU ships, sailing first to Brisbane, with a clockwise rotation around Australia.

The same Australian ports will be covered on both strings.
